Paul Ryan

Paul Ryan has moved fluidly between still photography and cinema. He shot additional cinematography on Terrence Malick’s “Days of Heaven,” Robert Redford’s “A River Runs Through It” and “The Horse Whisperer,” the Rolling Stones’ documentary “Gimme Shelter,” and still photography on the set of “American Graffiti”. A member of The American Society of Cinematographers, he’s taught at the Ansel Adams Workshops and the Sundance Institute. Paul’s photographs chronicle the cultural scenes of recent decades. Several of his prints are held in the San Francisco Museum permanent collection.
