Stephen Shames

Stephen Shames is an art photographer and photojournalist. For nearly six decades, he has been traveling across five continents, bearing witness to profound tragedy and inspiring triumph—and making iconic pictures of both. During his career Shames has photographed many famous people including those featured here. Steve is author of 16 photographic monographs including: "A Lifetime in Photography" and "Outside the Dream". His photographs are held in the collections of 45 museums, including The Museum of Modern Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the National Portrait Gallery.
